Hello denizens of Music Technology! Here you can find links to sites that will help us improve our knowledge of music notation, our piano skills, and music software. Unit requirements are below in red.
EVERY DAY...
1) As you walk in: CHECK SMART BOARD FOR INSTRUCTIONS. Generally, log on, open Finale, open
our class website, perform a sound check, turn your chair around to receive instructions.
2) Come ready to learn with a positive attitude
3) Respect the space of the computer lab (sleep or shut down computers at end of class, make sure
volume is at an appropriate level for the next user, tuck in chairs)
4) Bring a writing utensil (preferably a pencil)
To play the keyboard at your personal work station...
1) Make sure computer and monitor are on
2) Put on headphones - CHECK VOLUME! It may be set very high or very low! Adjust as necessary.
3) Open Finale, but do not progress further than the first screen. You should be able to hear your
keyboard if this program is open.
*** Troubleshooting tips are posted on the walls of the computer lab! Please try these first before asking for my help.
UNIT REQUIREMENTS:
1) Come to class prepared! (see above)
2) Everyone will demonstrate basic keyboard skills by showing me 2 right hand melodies and 2 left hand melodies (from the page on this website) by Friday, 04/25. This is my last day at AMS. Plan accordingly!
3) Everyone will complete a final project in the form of an original composition. See the project page.
